Azteca 18U Plays Hard at Rapid City Tournament
The Pueblo Azteca 18U team made a trip up north to the Post #22 Hardhats Tournament in Rapid City, SD. The team went 3-3 but had a fun time! Below are a few pictures from their trip.
Azteca 18U Captures BurkBurnett Tournament Title June 5-8
The Pueblo Azteca 18U (PA 18U) team opend its 2025 season with a bang, postting a 6-1 record on the road and winning the Burkburnett Tournament Championship held June 5-8, at Burburnett, TX.
Pueblo Azteca started the season with four consecutive wins in the tourney before falling to the Burkburnett Blacksox-Black, 7-4. PA 18U roared back in the loser's bracket defeating Mudcats-Randall 18U squad, 13-0, before facing the Blacksox-Black team again for the championship and prevailing, 6-4, in a hard-fought win.

Azteca 17s Capture Artie Escobado Championship 4-3 over Wow Factor
The Pueblo Azteca 17s rallied in extra innings to capture the 18th Annual Artie Escobado Memorial Tournament Championship game, 4-3, over Wow Factor on Hobbs Field June 30.
Azteca 17s led, 3-1, after five innings, but the Wow Factor fought back scoring once in both the sixth and seventh innings to tie the game (3-3). In the bottom of the eighth, Azteca's Sol Montoya singled, scoring the winning run. Camden Moniux Moniux led Pueblo Azteca 17U with three hits in four trips to the plate. Both Montoya and Moniux were selected to the all-tournament team.
Blake Swift, the MVP of the tournament, pitched the entire game for Azteca 17s throwing over 100 pitches. He gave up 10 hits and three runs (two which were earned) over eight innings. Swift struck out four and walked one.
The Wow Factor was making a return to the championship game for the second straight year. It also lost in the title game a year ago to the Azteca 18s, 10-0, in five innings.

Early College Commitments Ink Letters of Intent at Runyon
The Runyon Sports Complex (RSC) was the site for seven area high school baseball and softball players who put their names on national letters of intent during the early signing period. The event took place on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2022 in the conference room at the RSC.
All seven signees will stay in Colorado. Five will travel south on I-25 to attend Trinidad State Junior College (TSJC), two will be going to Colorado State University-Pueblo (CSU-P) and one heading north to Northeastern Junior College (NJC) in Sterling, CO.
There were two signees from Pueblo Centennial and Pueblo County while Pueblo Central, Pueblo East and Pueblo South each had one. Below is the names of the signees, their current high school and where they intend to play ball in college.
