2025 Jim DiIoro Scholarship Recipients
Damian CordovaDamian Cordova
Damian is a graduate of the class of 2025at South High School. He was the Top Scholar at South, receiving the District 60 Award for Excellence in Character, and was featured as the KKTV Student-Athlete Classroom Champion. Damian played football, basketball, and baseball, as well as being a member of the Student Council, National Honor Society, and Junior Achievement. In football, he started at slot receiver, safety, and kick returner and was selected to the All-League First Team both his junior and senior years. In addition, Damian received an All-State Honorable Mention. In baseball, he played left field and catcher and was an All-SCL Honorable Mention his senior year. Damian has played baseball at Runyon since he was a little kid and has played countless games on the Jim Diiorio Field. Next year, he plans to attend Colorado University, Boulder to study civil engineering.
Cooper SimmonsCooper Simmons
Cooper loves to hike, mountain bike, work out, and snowboard. That being said, he has spent most of the last 4 years as a student-athlete. Cooper attended East High School, finishing at the top of his class and graduating Summa Cum Laude with Distinction. He is a four-time varsity letterman and two-time qualifier in golf. Cooper is very proud of his time at East and is currently planning on attending CSU Pueblo. He has yet to decide on a major, but is sure he will be successful in whatever path he decides to take. Cooper would like to thank the Diiorio Family for their support in his future. It means a lot to him.
